INTRODUCING ARTSFEST 2021

This is my painting of me and Medusa as one person. Half of the face is Medusa and the other half is me. It is an acrylic painting on canvas. I chose to do this because when I heard Medusa's story in class this semester I was really intrigued by it and the way that it was much different than I had originally thought. I had always seen her depicted as a monster, however in her story she was a victim, and was villainized because of it. The half and half face represents this idea that she is actually a human who was just mistreated.
