My piece focused on my story as a Goddess of Embroidery/Sewing and how it helped me find peace and solace. Early on when we went into quarantine, embroidery and sewing played a big role in my life from independent projects to class ones from my CPSA workshop for upcycling clothing. Using embroidery and sewing to make new products or modify old ones made me feel happy and at peace where I would be able to get lost in the project and tune out the worries of the world. I like to think that my piece represents those feelings and also showcases symbols that mean a lot to me and represent my thoughts when creating this piece including an embroidery hoop with an embroidery of an orange, one of my favorite fruits, and a sewing needle and thread. The story I had initially thought of when thinking of this project was one in which after feeling lost and distressed I discovered embroidery and sewing and was able to find myself and feel comfort. After this, I became a goddess that helped others who were feeling lost guide their way to themselves and inspired others in their sewing and embroidery projects. As embroidery and sewing did help me find solace in distressing times I believe that the story relates well to my personal experiences
